The Creek

The property features a branch of the Saugeen River called Black’s Creek, which is a habitat of wild flowers, dragonflies, bees, and small fish, and the source of drinking water for all the wild life, from deer, to raccoons, porcupine, and all others. The water is clean, cool, and clear, and the current is tranquil at the property.

Water current gets faster along the way toward the west through the creek; since waterways do not belong to anyone, it is legally safe to travel on the water, some like to do tubing.

Tubing can be dangerous and we have not done it ourselves, but if you are ready for this adventure, you can enjoy tubing in New Earth Estate creek. Male sure to bring your own tubing gear, you also will need to sign a consent form, as we won't be liable for your safety.

Tobogganing                                                           $110.00

Tobogganing is a fun activity in snow season for kids or adults; not only it keeps you warm, but also benefits your heart, lungs, muscles, joints, and even your brain.

Cardiovascular benefits

Have you ever noticed that you are a little short of breath after climbing up a hill

while pulling a sled behind you? This phenomenon can be attributed to that shorter duration burst of physical activity followed by the rest at the top (and of course sliding back down). Doing repeated bursts of higher intensity physical activity followed by a period of rest is known in fitness literature as interval training.

This form of exercise improves the health of your cardiovascular system (heart, lungs and blood vessels). Just remember, the key is to take enough time to recover and catch your breath at the top of the hill before plummeting back down and repeating the cycle!

Muscular benefits

Climbing hills makes us use our hip extensors, knee extensors and ankle plantar flexors (Glutes, quads and calf muscles in other words).

These muscles are also used for walking and running under normal circumstances. Many athletes will use hill and stair climbing to strengthen these muscle groups for athletic performance. Tobogganing just makes this form of training a lot of fun at the same time.

Bones and joints

All physical activity strengthens our bones as well as the connective tissue and cartilage (smooth lining) in our joints. These benefits are enhanced by adding “resistance.” In the case of tobogganing, we are resistance training by carrying the load of a sled up the hill or by simply working against the resistance of gravity by carrying with the weight of our own body uphill.

Brain

When we exercise, our body produces chemicals called endorphins. When an increased level of endorphins circulate in our brain, we experience pain relief, pleasure and a sense of well-being. Remember to wear appropriate, clothing such as warm ski cloths, gloves, and hats. We provide the sleds or you can bring your own we have two sites for this great activity.

On a Tobogganing experience you can bring your own sled, buy, or rent it from us, After the exercise we will serve some fire brewed tea, or hot apple cider while you are relaxing in the spa facility, next you can sit by the fire in a tipi to have your vegetarian/vegan meal, that accommodates food preferences or allergies.

Vipassana (10 days all inclusive)                     $1,695.00

A 10 day Vipassana Experience with accommodation, course, meals, and spa all inclusive.

The technique of Vipassana is a simple, practical way to achieve real peace of mind and to lead a happy, useful life. Vipassana means "to see things as they really are". It is a logical process of mental purification through self-observation.

From time to time, we all experience agitation, frustration and disharmony. When we suffer, we do not keep our misery limited to ourselves; instead, we keep distributing it to others as well. Enlightened people have therefore advised 'Know thyself', which means not merely knowing yourself at the intellectual level, or accepting at the emotional or devotional level, but to experience the truth about yourself, within yourself, at the experiential level. To achieve this, a technique of Vipassana meditation was taught in India more than 2500 years ago as a universal remedy for universal problems.

Vipassana enables us to experience peace and harmony by purifying the mind, freeing it from suffering and the deep-seated causes of suffering. Step by step, the practice leads to the highest spiritual goal of full liberation from all mental defilements.

The entire path (Dhamma) is an Art of Living and has nothing to do with any organized religion or sectarianism. For this reason, it can be freely practiced by everyone, at any time, in any place, without conflict due to race, community or religion, and will prove equally beneficial to one and all.

To learn Vipassana, it is necessary to take a ten-day residential course under the guidance of a qualified teacher. The courses are conducted at established Vipassana Centers and other non-center locations. During the entire duration of the retreat, students remain within the course site having no contact with the outer world. They refrain from reading and writing, and suspend all religious practices or other disciplines. During the course, participants follow a prescribed Code of Discipline. They also observe noble silence by not communicating with fellow students; however, they are free to discuss meditation questions with the teacher and material problems with the management.
